| strsctp 0.9.2.6 TestedDescription: OpenSS7 Old News.Approved for Immediate Release Aug 7, 2006 (Edmonton, Alberta -- Aug 7, 2006) OpenSS7 today announced the successful conclusion of SCTP Interop Testing of Release 0.9.2.6 of the STREAMS SCTP strsctp package. STREAMS SCTP is an OpenSS7 Project implementation of Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP - RFC 2960) for Linux Fast-STREAMS. It is based on the same protocol engine core as the Linux Native (Sockets) version of OpenSS7 SCTP. This version of SCTP for Linux Fast-STREAMS was taken to the 10th SCTP Interop event at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and tested between July 30th, 2006 and August 4th, 2006. Testing consisted of interoperability testing between the OpenSS7 STREAMS implementation and implementations from Cisco, IBM, Motorola, Nokia, Emerson (Artesyn), Univ. of Essen, and Univ. of Munich implementations, yeilding no interoperability issues for the OpenSS7 implementation. Preliminary performance testing was performed on the last day and we successfully transfered 0.72 Gbps of data to the OpenSS7 implementation with a non-optimized build (-O0). Additional performance testing using dual GigE interfaces will be performed over the next weeks. The STREAMS SCTP implementation was tested using Linux Fast-STREAMS (streams-0.7a.5rc3) and STREAMS SCTP (strsctp-0.9.2.6rc3) on 3.0GHz Intel 630 HT and 2.57 GHz Intel PIV systems running Fedora Core 5 and the latest 2.6.17 kernel. As with other OpenSS7 releases, this release configures, compiles, installs and builds rpms for a wide range of Linux 2.4 and 2.6 RPM-based distributions, and can be used on production kernels without patching or recompiling the kernel. This package is publicly released under the GNU Public License Version 2. The release is available as an autoconf/RPM tarball, SRPM, and set of binary RPMs. See the downloads page for the autoconf tarballs and SRPMs. See the strsctp package page for tarballs, SRPMS and binary RPMS. See ChangeLog and NEWS in the release for more information. Also, see the strsctp.pdf manual in the release (also in html here).
