T100P-SS7, E100P-SS7 Device Driver

Description: OpenSS7 Project Status Device Driver T100P-SS7 E100P-SS7

Note that it is now possible to select from most of these categories off of the "Related" sidebar menu.

Overview:-

The T100P-SS7 (T1) and E100P-SS7 (E1) cards are affordable 1-Span T1 and E1 cards manufactured by Digium under an open hardware design (Gerber plots available) and resold by OpenSS7 Corporation. The proceeds of the sale of these cards go directly to the support of the OpenSS7 Project.

The X100P-SS7 driver provides SS7, ISDN and voice channel support for these cards. The driver provides the following interfaces:

Local Management Interface (LMI)
Signalling Data Link Interface (SDLI)
Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI)
Signalling Link Interface (SLI)
Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI)
Multiplex Interface (MXI)
Channel Interface (CHI)

This driver is fashioned after the popular X400P-SS7 driver.

For more information on card specifications see our hardware page for the card here.

History:-

Work on this driver was started April 2003.

Status:-

The X100P-SS7 driver is in the Testing stage. Additional effort on this project is STALLED awaiting contribution of a card for testing. Digium has not yet provided a card for testing.

If you are interested in contributing a card to unstall this project, please contact us using this sponsorship address.

Dependencies:-

This component depends on the following interfaces:

Local Management Interface (LMI)
Signalling Data Link Interface (SDLI)
Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI)
Signalling Link Interface (SLI)
Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI)
Multiplex Interface (MXI)
Channel Interface (CHI)

This device driver is a Linux 2.4.x loadable module which depends upon the PCI facilities of the Linux 2.4.x kernel series.

Design:-

Designs for the X100P-SS7 driver are available here.

Documentation:-

Documentation for the X100P-SS7 driver is available here. The X100P-SS7 driver man page is available here: x100p-ss7(4).

Test Results:-

Test programs and results for Q.781 conformance testing are available in the test sub-directory of the strss7 release code.

Preliminary PICS and PIXIT Proforma for the X100P-SS7 driver are available here.

Test programs and results have not yet been released to the public. Please see the CVS Archives Page for more information on obtaining access to test results.

Test programs and results will be included in the next major release of the OpenSS7 SS7 stack.

References:-

A reference list for the X100P-SS7 driver can be viewed here.

Code:-

Code has not yet been released to the public. Please see the CVS Archive Page for more information on obtaining access to the code.

This code will be released with the next major release of the OpenSS7 SS7 stack.

Release Package:-

The X100P-SS7 device driver is an integral part of the OpenSS7 STREAMS SS7 stack and provides access to voice channels, ISDN B- and D-channels, and SS7 signalling channel. It can be found in the x400p-ss7 sub-directory in the strss7 release code.

The X100P-SS7 driver has not yet been publicly released. Please see the CVS Archive Page for more information.
