PCI-384 Device Drivers

Description: OpenSS7 Project Status Device Driver PCI-384

Note that it is now possible to select from most of these categories off of the "Related" sidebar menu.

Overview:-

The PCI-384 card is a PCI card available from Performance Technologies, Inc. that runs embedded Linux on the MPC-860 processor on the card. The card supports the interface of 4 E1/T1/J1 spans and provides for TDM switching on an H.110 backplane. For more detailed specifications on the card, see the Performance Technologies website.

The PCI-384 device driver proivdes the SS7, ISDN and voice channel support for this card. The driver provides the following (embedded) interfaces:

Local Management Interface (LMI)
Signalling Data Link Interface (SDLI)
Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI)
Signalling Link Interface (SLI)
Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI)
Multiplex Interface (MXI)
Channel Interface (CHI)
Media Gateway Interface (MGI)

For more information on card specifications see our hardware page for the card here.

History:-

Work on the PCI-384 device driver started in January 2001.

Status:-

The PCI-394 device driver is in the Coding stage. Additional effort on this project is STALLED awaiting contribution of a card for testing. Performance Technologies has not yet provided a card for testing.

If you are interested in contributing a card to unstall this project, please contact us using this sponsorship address.

Dependencies:-

This component depends on the following interfaces:

Local Management Interface (LMI)
Signalling Data Link Interface (SDLI)
Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI)
Signalling Link Interface (SLI)
Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI)
Multiplex Interface (MXI)
Channel Interface (CHI)
Media Gateway Interface (MGI)

This device driver is a Linux 2.4.x loadable module which loads on the embedded Nexusware (Linux) OS and depends on the PCI facilities of the Linux 2.4.x kernel series and the H.110 and other facilities provided by the Nexusware embedded OS.

Design:-

Designs for the PCI-384 driver can be viewed here.

Documentation:-

Documentation for the PCI-384 driver is available here. The PCI-384 driver man page is available here: pci384(8).

Test Results:-

Test programs and results are not yet publicly available. When tests results are available, conformance test results will be available here, and performance test results will be available here.

References:-

A reference list for the PCI-394 driver can be viewed here.

Code:-

Code has not yet been released to the public. Please see the CVS Archive Page for more information on obtaining access to the code.

Release Package:-
