- OpenSS7 ISDN Devices
SYNOPSIS
#include <sys/stream.h>
-
int isdn_stream = open(isdn_device, flags);
-
int retval = ioctl(isdn_stream, I_PUSH, isdn_module);
DESCRIPTION
The
ISDN
related collection of drivers and modules provide ISDN[1, 2]
capabilities in a number of related forms, including H.323, V5.2, GR-303 and
GSM variants.
DRIVERS
ISDN
provides the following
STREAMS
pseudo-device drivers:
- isdn(4)
- Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Q.931/932 Network Layer
protocol layer[3, 4]
that provides a Call Control Interface,
cci(7),
for ISDN operation,
cci_isdn(7),
and a Local Management Interface,
lmi_ioctl(4),
for ISDN management,
isdn_ioctl(4).
- capi(4)
- Common ISDN Application Programming Interface (CAPI)[5]
protocol layer that provides the Call Control Interace,
cci(7),
for ISDN operation,
cci_isdn(7),
for CAPI devices installed and registered on the local system,
and a Local Management Interface,
lmi_ioctl(4),
for CAPI management,
capi_ioctl(4).
- v5(4)
- V5.2
protocol layer that provides the Call Control Interface,
cci(7),
for V5.2 operation,
v5_ioctl(4).
- gr303(4)
- GR-303-CORE
protocol layer that provides the Call Control Interface,
cci(7),
for GR-303-CORE operation,
cci_gr303(7),
and a Local Management Interface,
lmi_ioctl(4),
for GR-303-CORE management,
gr303_ioctl(4).
- dl(4)
- Q.921 (LAPD), Q.922 (LAPF), X.25 (LAPB)

MODULES
ISDN
provides the following pushable
STREAMS
modules:
- hdlc(4)
- ISO 3309/4335 High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC)
Communications Device Interface,
cdi(7),
module, that can be pushed over a stream that conforms to the Channel
Interface (CHI),
chi(7).
DEVICES
ISDN
provides the following
STREAMS
device drivers:
- x400p(4)
- T400P-SS7 and E400P-SS7 4-span T1/E1
card driver that provides a Channel Interface,
chi(7),
and Multiplex Interface,
mxi(7).
The
hdlc(4),
module cam be pushed over the
chi(7)
device and linked under the
dl(4)
driver to form a complete ISDN Q.921 data link. The
mxi(7)
device can be used to switch bearer channels, see
mx(4).
