SS7 Codecs

Description: OpenSS7 Project Status Applications SS7 Codecs.

There is no real design document for these classes. Here is an example using ANSI 92 ISUP:


ISUP Codec Example

Following is an example of the specification of ANSI 1992 ISUP for the SS7 encoder/decoder which is included in the package. There are two files:

ISUP_Codec.H
  which provides a specification of the field, parameter and message classes, derived from SS7 encoder/decoder base classes, and ISUP_Codec.C
  which provides the constructors for the ISUP derived classes based on the SS7 encoder/decoder base class constructors.

The entire specification of the ISUP syntax is less than 2000 lines long.


ISUP_Codec.H

Following is the C++ header file for ANSI 1992 ISUP. The file provides declarations of the field, parameter and message types for ANSI ISUP. The classes are declared as deriving from the SS7 encode/decode base classes which provide the principle behaviour for the items (such as encode and decode methods).

ISUP_Codec.C

Following is the C++ procedure file which specifies how parameter and message classes are constructed for ISUP. Most of the specification is the mnemonics and display strings to be used when displaying the decoding of an ISUP message. Class methods invoke base class methods in the SS7 encode/decode library.
