ComponentsThe Linux Data Link project will provide a Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) for Linux network interfaces as well as providing a Linux networking interface for STREAMS drivers supporting the Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI). The IP projects is to provide a Internet Protocol (IP) multiplexing driver which provides Transprt Provider Interface (TPI) to the native Linux NET4 IP implementation. The SCTP project is to provide a Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) STREAMS multiplexing driver which will provide SCTP protocol modules. In addition, this project is responsible for a Linux Native implementation of SCTP and STREAMS access to the Linux Native implementation. OpenSS7 has two Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) drivers: one for the LiS STREAMS stack which is written as a STREAMS driver; another native to the Linux kernel. OpenSS7 provides an INET package for LiS STREAMS which provides a STREAMS Transport Provider Interface (TPI) to our Linux native kernel (sockets) implementation, as well as providing an SCTP STREAMS driver which provides Transport Provider Interface (TPI) and Network Provider Interface (NPI) under STREAMS. The STREAMS project provides a high-performance, production replacement for Linux STREAMS (LiS), called Linux Fast-STREAMS, or LfS, for short. The OpenSS7 Project does not currently have any kernel projects. InterfacesThe STREAMS X/Open Transport Interface (XTI) project will provide an XNS 5.2 compliant XTI interface library, and a cooperating set of timod(4) and tirdwr(4) modules. Socket System Driver (socksys) and Module (sockmod) The STREAMS Socket System project will provide an SVR 4.2 compliant socket system interface for Linux Fast-STREAMS. The STREAMS Sockets project will provide an XNS 5.2, POSIX/SUSv3 compliant sockets interface to Streams supporting the Transport Provider Interface (TPI). STREAMS DDI/DKI Compatibility (strcompat) Modules The STREAMS compatibility modules project will provide STREAMS DDI/DKI interface compatibility for most major UNIX STREAMS implementations, including AIX, HPUX, IRIX, LfS, LiS, MacOT, OSF/1, SVR 3.2, SVR 4.2, and UnixWare. | ||||||||||||||||
