Overview:- |
The User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Transport Provider Interface (TPI) access component is an
implementaiton of a STREAMS driver which provides TPI access to the native Linux NET4 TCP
implementation.
UDP is a fundamental component of some Signalling Transport (SIGTRAN) protocols such as the
Besseler IPSS7 component.

Work on the UDP transport component began in January 2001.
|

Status:- |
The STREAMS UDP interface to the native Linux NET4 UDP is in the Maintenance
stage.
|

Dependencies:- |
The current STREAMS INET interface release depends on a Linux 2.4.x kernel and a current LiS
(e.g. 2.16.16). This INET interface package is an integral component of the current LiS
releases and need not be downloaded separately.

Test programs and test results have been publicly released and are part of the public release

The code for this component can be viewed here.
Maintenance and feature enhancement updates are normally publicly released as soon as they
become available. Current updates will also be incorporated into future LiS releasese.
